Justin Bieber under fire for graffiti: Australian hotel proud of pop star's art work, but mayor demands he clean up the ‘mess’

Justin Bieber’s graffiti art has become an issue in several countries, but in Australia some people love it and others hate it.

An Australian hotel is declaring itself a graffiti Belieber, despite being at odds with the city government.
QT Hotel in the Gold Coast said it gave Justin Bieber permission to spray graffiti on its wall. The Canadian singer and others posted images online showing cartoon faces in fluorescent paint on an outdoor wall at the hotel in Queensland state.
After hearing criticism, the hotel changed its Facebook page cover art Thursday to show Bieber, his graffiti and the declaration: "He asked, and we said YES."
The Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate says the singer risked undermining the city's efforts to fight graffiti. "The last thing we want is to have graffiti glorified and more young people thinking it's a cool thing to do," he said.
Australian government officials have asked Bieber to ‘clean up’ his art, but one hotel is ‘proud’ of their pop star display.

Australian government officials have asked Bieber to ‘clean up’ his art, but one hotel is ‘proud’ of their pop star display.

In a letter to the hotel, Tate asserted the city can insist on removal of graffiti in private spaces if it's visible from public spaces.
But in further posts on its Facebook page, QT Hotel defended Bieber as an excellent hotel guest and said it wanted to promote graffiti as an art form. It invited artists to share examples of their work to be judged, with select artists being offered a hotel wall they could spray-paint themselves.
Bieber performed in Brisbane on Wednesday and has more concerts in Sydney on Friday and Saturday.
Justin Bieber posted photos of his graffiti art, done in several countries during his Believe world tour, to his Instagram page.

The 19-year-old pop star arrived in Australia after a troubled Latin American tour.
He apologized to Argentinians after images appeared to show him dragging that country's flag across the stage with his feet. He quit one concert early after apparently contracting food poisoning, and police in Brazil want to question him about another graffiti incident there.

FBI hunt killer of 21-year-old Florida woman found beaten to death in Louisiana bayou

Lindsay Louise Ellixson, 21, was found beaten to death, and a homicide investigation has been launched to discover how the ‘free spirit’ died. Her family says she was traveling the country to ‘figure out’ her life and was only home ‘intermittently.’

The body of Lindsay Louise Ellixson, 21, was discovered battered and beaten in a bayou in East Baton Rouge, La. Authorities are searching for her killer.

The FBI is hunting the killer of a Florida woman beaten to death and dumped in a Louisiana bayou as she traveled the country "trying to figure out" her life.
The battered body of Lindsay Louise Ellixson, 21, was found at 3 p.m. Saturday floating in water by fishermen in East Baton Rouge.
Agents think she was killed by a blow to the head — and that she'd been ditched two to five days before her discovery.
A homicide investigation has been launched.
"She was beaten to death and left there," Chief of Investigations Shane Evans told WFTV. "Someone did this to her and put her there. It was unusually brutal and violent."
Ellixson, originally from Orlando, had been reportedly touring the nation ever since finishing Boone High School.
Her adoptive mom, Catherine Ellixson, said she'd been home "intermittently" over the years, and they'd last spoken 10 days before her body was found.
"She had beautiful blue eyes and a free spirit," Catherine Ellixson told The Advocate. "She just had a lot of struggles that she needed to overcome."
Lindsay Ellixon had 'beautiful blue eyes and a free spirit,' said her adoptive mother, Catherine Ellixson.

FACEBOOK

Lindsay Ellixon had 'beautiful blue eyes and a free spirit,' said her adoptive mother, Catherine Ellixson.

Agents are now looking at posts the young woman made on the MeetMe social networking site in the eight weeks before her death.
Listing herself as job and homeless, she allegedly wrote under the name "Lindsay Head" that she was engaged — and was also looking for "ladies only" as she "looking for fun for my man."
She also wrote: "I can't find a good guy to spoil me and love me for me … why does it always have to end up about sex!"
Another time she posted: "I'm making it known that I'm in need of someone sexy to take care of me and make my life less boring … I need more excitement!!!"
And her last entry read: "GIVING UP FOR NOW."
Her adoptive dad, Chris Ellixson, said the family was "coming to terms" with her death.
"She's looking down on us, smiling, wishing us a happy Thanksgiving," he told WAFB. "We know where she is. (She was) just trying to figure things out."
Anyone with information is asked to contact East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at 225-389-5000 or CrimeStoppers anonymously at 344-STOP.
Local authorities, state police and the FBI are investigating.

Amber Riley, Derek Hough quickstep their way to win ‘Dancing with the Stars’ trophy

The 27-year-old Glee star and Hough danced their way to edge out Corbin Bleu and Jack Osbourne for the Mirror Ball trophy.

On a season devoid of major celebrities, "Glee's" Amber Riley stayed a step ahead of the rest of the field on "Dancing with the Stars" for most of the past 11 weeks.
And she stayed ahead when it counted.
Despite battling a bad knee and any viewer preconceptions about her plus-size, the 27-year-old actress was crowned champion in Tuesday night's finale of the ABC reality dancing competition.
"I want to let women of all sizes to know, you can do whatever you put your mind to," said Riley as her partner Derek Hough hugged her tightly.
She also overcame a heck of a challenge from runner-up Corbin Bleu. The "High School Musical" alum charged to the top of the leader board a few weeks ago, but seemed to stumble in the home stretch.
Finishing third was Jack Osbourne, the son of heavy metal icon Ozzy, who battled through multiple sclerosis to make it into the final week of the competition.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West gush about each other in Hot 97 interview: She's the 'most beautiful woman of all time'

The couple stopped by the radio show in the midst of West’s New York City shows, to talk about their relationship, being parents together and how they view themselves as a power couple.

Kim Kardashian is "wifey for life now."
In a sit-down interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez, Kanye West and his lady love take turns gushing about their love for each other and how they've grown closer since becoming parents to daughter North West.
"His face lights up when he is with our daughter, and he is the most amazing dad ever," Kardashian, 33, said.
West admitted that a part of his song "Lost in the World," from the 2010 album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" was actually written as a love letter to Kardashian, revealing that their courtship had been going on for a long time.
"I loved her from the first day I saw her," said West, 36.
He also explained that he agreed to have "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" cameras at their lavish San Francisco baseball stadium engagement because he has started making "compromises" for the woman he loves.
"I felt like that was something that would make her happy," West said. "Regardless of how it was shot, I felt like this is a moment that she would like to have and like to share and have that documented."
West declared that his fiancée is arguably the most beautiful woman ‘of human existence’... or at least Top 10.

"When you're in a relationship you start making sacrifices of what you think is cool or not cool and you just let go … and that makes you stronger."
Kardashian also addressed the Katie Couric incident — saying she asked West whether she should "blast" Couric for being a "fake media friend” with her Instagram post.
To end their conversation and address those that just "don't get" the relationship, West makes a bold declaration to the entire world:
"Y'all are acting like this ain't the most beautiful woman of all time," he said.
"Arguably of human existence."

Inside Adam Lanza's lair: Newtown shooter plotted own death, obsessed with Columbine shooting, report details

Haunting photos released Monday reveal the Bushmaster rifle used at Sandy Hook Elementary School as well as Adam Lanza's secret arsenal found among personal possessions in his home. His motive remains a mystery.

All of the 5.56 mm shell casings recovered at Sandy Hook Elementary school were found to have been fired from this Bushmaster semiautomatic rifle, which was found on the floor of Room 10 after the shooting spree.

The monster used one of his mother’s guns to unleash hell at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The .223-caliber Bushmaster Model XM15 that Adam Lanza used to murder 20 first-graders and six staffers on Dec. 14 was found beside his body in classroom 10 of the doomed Connecticut school.

Adam Lanza slaughtered 20 children and six women at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. on Dec. 14, 2012.

Lanza used a Glock 20 pistol to finish himself off as cops were closing in.
And that gun, like all the others Lanza had armed himself with, were legally purchased by Nancy Lanza — his mother, his first victim and a woman who catered to his every whim.

Sandy Hook Elementary School was demolished in November. A new school is expected to open by Dec. 2016.

The shocking photograph of the infamous murder weapon was released Monday along with a much-anticipated, 48-page report on the mass shooting by State’s Attorney Stephen Sedensky.
In it, Sedensky revealed that Nancy Lanza was planning to add to the arsenal by buying her unhinged son a new pistol for Christmas — even though he hated the holidays.
Police lead children from the school on the day of the shooting. It was the second deadliest mass shooting by an individual in American history, after the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007.

Lanza “disliked birthdays, Christmas and holidays,” the report states. “He would not allow his mother to put up a Christmas tree.”
Nevertheless, Nancy Lanza “prepared a check for that purchase” of a CZ 83-type pistol. It was found in Lanza’s lair after he killed his mother in the master bedroom of the Newtown, Conn., home they shared on Dec. 14 and roared off to commit mass murder at the local school.

Sedensky’s summary also revealed, among other things, that Lanza likely didn’t hear the screams of the children because he was wearing earplugs.

It also revealed that Newtown police believed there was more than one shooter when they arrived about five minutes after the first 911 call came from the school at 9:35 a.m.
Sedensky did not delve into the reasons why Nancy Lanza was bent on buying her mentally ill son what the manufacturer describes as a high-performance “pocket” pistol.

But relatives of the victims could not fathom why she would sow the seeds of her own destruction — and that of 26 other people — by handing her son a gun.
“Yes, we have read the report. No, we cannot make sense of why it happened,” Donna Soto, the mother of slain hero teacher Victoria Soto, said in a statement. “We don’t know if anyone ever will. We don’t know if we will ever be whole again, we don’t know if we will go a day without pain, we don’t know if anything will ever make sense again.”

Sedensky’s summary of the slaughter, released nearly a year after Lanza scripted one of the worst mass murders in U.S. history, contained other horrors. Throughout the report, Lanza was referred to as “the shooter.”
Lanza was obsessed with mass killings — and especially fixated on the April 1999 mass shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo.

But Sedensky did not provide the answer to the question that has been on many minds since the massacre.
“The obvious question that remains is: ‘Why did the shooter murder 27 people (including himself), including 20 children?” he wrote. “Unfortunately, that question may never be answered conclusively, despite the collection of extensive background information on the shooter through a multitude of interviews and other sources.”

Whether this played are role in the Newtown massacre “is unknown,” Sedensky wrote.

Lanza “had significant mental health issues that affected his ability to live a normal life and to interact with others, even those to whom he should have been close.”
The mass killer also had “a familiarity with and access to firearms and ammunition and an obsession with mass murders, in particular the April 1999 shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado,” Sedensky wrote.

But among the “digital evidence” seized was a “five-second video (dramatization) depicting children being shot” and disturbing “images of the shooter holding a handgun to his head.”
There were also “images of hamsters,” “images of Lego creations” and “large amounts of materials on firearms.”

The Connecticut official’s report also offered sickening new insight into the relationship between Lanza and his divorced mom, who taught her son how to shoot.
Lanza had few friends growing up, and there had been reports of him being bullied. In recent years, he cut off all contact with his father and older brother.

There is no evidence that Lanza fired that weapon.
Cops also found an Izhmash Saiga-12, which is a 12-gauge semiautomatic shotgun, in the trunk of Lanza's car. It too had not been fired.
Sedensky did not release the full report, which is thousands of pages long and outlines all the evidence gathered in the wake of the tragedy. That remains in the hands of the Connecticut State Police.
Sendensky is also fighting attempts by the Associated Press and other news organizations to release the 911 tapes, which are routinely disclosed to the public after an investigation is completed.
Some Newtown residents were disappointed that the report offered no real answers.
